That Dog Smell Isn’t Normal

What Does a Healthy Dog Look like?

There are many characteristics you’ll notice once you switch your dog to a raw food diet, some are quite apparent while others are not immediately obvious.

Some of the changes you can expect to see in raw-fed dogs:

  • A smoother, shinier coat
  • Decreased body odour
  • Minimized or eliminated bad breath
  • Cleaner teeth
  • Smaller, less-smelly poops (which will usually turn white and blow away within a few days)
  • Improved energy levels
  • Reduced allergy symptoms
  • Improved digestion
  • Better weight control
  • Decreased thirst – dogs are able to hydrate through their food
  • Bright and shiny eyes

That nasty old dog stink that most processed food fed dogs seem to have is not normal. That smell points to how harsh the carbohydrate rich diet is on the pets body. Depending on the age of your pet, moving to a fresh food diet can either eliminate the smell altogether or reduce it tremendously. The skin is your pets largest organ and when it smells like the stinky dog smell it shows a level of detoxification that is unsustainable by the body long term. Try fresh foods for a month and see if it may assist you in wanting to spend time with your pets again. Fresh foods matter.
